We made it! Here's the my final entry for Sketchbook Month. It has been a really fun challenge for me and I learned a lot about my own process and technique because of it. I can't wait to apply everything I've learned from this to my next project. A BIG thanks to Cedric & Jennie Hohnstadt for all their efforts organizing this!

Here's my entry for Day 22 of Sketchbook Month. I'm sure whatever story this little guy is telling the young girl has heard it all before and isn't too impressed.
Home Buying

Painted Bag

Here's my entry for Day 18 of Sketchbook Month! I didn't have a lot of time today so I took a step back and decided to do a little experimenting with a new watercolor brush I've been tweaking in Photoshop using the sketch I created on March 7th. Starting with a large default Splatter brush I added scattering and opacity attributes to it to mimic how a true watercolor brush might work. I'm still tweaking it but so far so good. Have a great weekend everybody!

Forest Pledge
Friday, March 11, 2011
Woo hoo! It's Friday! Here's another entry for Sketchbook Month. It has been a really fun experience for me getting to see all the amazing work that others have been creating. Cartoons or otherwise it's all fantastic and super encouraging to be a part of! Today's entry is another character study, perhaps, for the story I'm working on. Well, one of them at least. We'll see where the different ideas wander off to as I develop them. In the mean time enjoy!
Woodland Creatures
Thursday, March 10, 2011
Today's entry for Sketchbook Month are a few rough sketches for the little story I'm working on. These woodland creatures are going to be a part of it but I'm still playing around with how they will actually be involved.
Rock On!

Here's my Day 7 entry for Sketchbok Month!
I'm not entirely sure if it is as cartoony I it should be. I think I could have pushed it a bit further.
The REALLY cartoony head is an interesting contrast to the rest of the body and set pieces.
Drawing the guitar was a nice challenge and I am happy with how it turned out.
This was a nice departure from some of the previous posts I have uploaded.
I really enjoyed the characters in those sketches and the potential they have for a story of their own.
So much so that I decided to hold off on posting more so that I could take some time and build a story around them rather than make it up day-by-day.
So don't worry. They'll be back (sorry Arnie).

Here is my daily entry for Sketchbook Month.
Painted Candy
Sunday, March 6, 2011
Here are the results from a late night session of awesome painting action. I played around with a different Photoshop Brush to turn my Day 3 entry for Sketchbook Month into a nice painted cartoon. There's still a lot to be worked on but I'm really stoked with how it is starting out. Again kids. No touchy candy from strangers. Unless you're a monster.
Something Completely Different
Friday, March 4, 2011
Here's my Day 4 entry for Sketchbook Month. Today I've been super busy with a lot of admin stuff as well as finishing up a project so the continuing adventures of the "thing" from the forest will have to wait until tomorrow. Stay tuned! Thanks.
Mini-Monster Day
Thursday, March 3, 2011
Here's my Day 3 entry for the Sketchbook Month. I still don't know what this little thing is. Although I have a few ideas. Do you? Don't take candy from strangers kids! Unless you are a monster. Then I guess it's okay. Maybe.
Sketchbook Month Continues
WednesDAY, March 2, 2011
Here's the my next entry for Sketchbook Month that has caught on fire across the internet. Dozens of artists have taken up the challenge and they can all be seen here. Stop by every weekday in March for another sketch.
Today's entry continues the adventure of the characters we met yesterday although perhaps not in chronological order.
I still haven't solidified in my mind what this "thing" is so I feel on equal footing as the other characters in the scene.
Any suggestions?
Stay tune as we wander through these woods and maybe see what exactly this little creature is. See ya tomorrow!
What Did I Draw?
TuesDAY, March 1, 2011
Here's a quick sketch I worked on while taking a break for another project today.
I'm not really sure what that mini-monster is suppose to be exactly but the other characters in the piece are obviously are not too sure about it either.
Really happy with how it came together as well as my ease in executing what I wanted to do.
Over the last year drawing digitially in Adobe Photoshop CS3 has really become second nature to me and I'm really excited about what lies ahead.
I have a lot of things artistically I want to accomplish this year and I'm only just getting started. Can't wait.
Additionally this piece is now my first entry in the Sketchbook Month for March started by Cedric Hohnstadt.
Each weekday I'll be adding something new right here!
In other news this month is going to be super crazy for me. Getting ready for a move, finishing and starting projects days apart from each other while looking for even more at the same time.
It's been busy but in a good way. Now I just have to maintain momentum.
